A signed contract stays on the record

Once a client has signed, the contract cannot be deleted. It
can be terminated. The signature stays either way.

The mistake

An agreement ends, or was signed by the wrong person, and
somebody tries to remove it. LEAT refuses.

Why

A signature is a record of consent. Deleting it does not undo
the consent, it only removes our proof that it was given, on a
date, by a named person, from a confirmed email address.

If it is gone from our side, the client's copy is the only
account of what was agreed.

What to do

1. Set the contract to Terminated or Expired. It stays readable.
2. If the agreement is being replaced, raise the new one and say in it which contract it replaces.

What you can still delete

A draft that has never been sent out for signature.

What our signature actually is

A typed name, a timestamp, the address the confirmation code
went to, and the network address it came from. It is a record
of consent, not a cryptographic signature, and we do not claim
more than that.

Signing needs a code we email to the address we already hold.
Somebody who only has the reading link can read the contract
and cannot sign it.
