This page is for anybody waiting for money from LEAT: a supplier, a
partner, somebody a programme is paying, or a member of staff.
It means LEAT prepared a payment, two people checked it, and it was taken
to the bank.
It does not mean the money has left, and it does not mean it has reached
you. LEAT is honest about this because the alternative is telling you it
has been paid and having you find out otherwise at the bank.
It depends on the bank and on how the payment was made, and LEAT will not
promise you a date it does not control.
What LEAT will do is tell you which of these is true right now: the sheet
is with the signatories, the money has left our account, or the bank has
confirmed it reached you.
Ask us. There is a real difference between "we do not know yet" and
"the bank told us it failed", and we can tell you which one you are in.
If the bank returned the payment, LEAT will have a reason recorded and
somebody working on it, and the most common cause by a long way is the
account details we hold for you being wrong or out of date.
Tell us through the relationship you already have with LEAT, not by
replying to a payment notice.
Changing the account LEAT pays you into needs more than a message. That
is the single most attacked thing in any payment process, and the
procedure is deliberately slow.
LEAT holds no bank credentials of its own and will never ask you for
yours. Nobody from LEAT will ever ask you for a password, a PIN, a
one-time code or your online banking details, for any reason, ever.
A message asking for any of those is not from us.
